Traditionally used to help maintain normal brain, heart and eye health, cod liver oil provides high levels of the beneficial omega 3 fatty acids DHA and EPA as well as being a rich source of vitamins A and D. Each Cod Liver Oil and Evening Primrose Oil combined capsule contains 50mg of EPA, 50mg of DHA and 30mg of GLA.

Evening Primrose Oil is obtained from the seeds of the Evening Primrose plant, a wild plant from North America that bears no relation to our native wild primrose. There are two main types of Evening Primrose Oil; one is extracted using chemical solvents, whilst the other is extracted by mechanically pressing the oil from the seeds. This is the extraction method used by Healthspan.

I love the product and have been using it for years. But I hate the bubble packaging which you haven't used for years; it's environmentally unfriendly. I may be forced to use another company if you don't switch to something that doesn't blight the landscape and is recyclable.

Thank you for your review - We regret to hear that you are unhappy with our blister packs. The letterbox-friendly cardboard outers are made of recycled card and remain fully recyclable. The blister packs are currently not recyclable due to the nature of their function. Healthspan uses high grade PVDC blister material which is a polyvinyl chloride material with an extra film coating. These superior barrier properties help to protect the supplements. Recyclable alternatives of blister packaging unfortunately do not have the same protective functions however we are continuing to search for recyclable options.
