Chondroitin

Chondroitin sulphate plays an important role in maintaining the structural integrity of tissue. It is a natural structural component of cartilage and provides the majority of resistance to compression in the joints. Loss of chondroitin sulphate from the cartilage is a major cause of osteoarthritis. In supplements chondroitin is usually supplied with glucosamine or other joint care ingredients for maximum benefit. It is wise to choose chondroitin from marine sources rather than that of bovine origin as the safety of the latter cannot be guaranteed.
