Evening Primrose Oil is obtained from the seeds of the Evening Primrose plant, a wild plant from North America, that bears no relation to our native wild primrose. There are two main types of Evening Primrose Oil, one is extracted using chemical solvents, whilst the other is extracted by mechanically pressing the oil from the seeds. This is the extraction method used by Healthspan.

Many people don't benefit sufficiently from Evening Primrose Oil because they don't take enough to reap the benefits. Our nutritionists advise that 1,000mg per day is sufficient as a cosmetic supplement; but around 2,000mg (two capsules) per day over a period of three to four months is ideal.
