Bilberry - 50mg Standardised Extract.

In the past, never having been impartial to alcoholic drinks and also being a long time Diabetes 2 sufferer, with damaged eye and brain Cells, I began getting interested in some anecdotal evidence I had read in the new Scientist in the early Eighties about British WW2 Fighter Pilots taking bilberries before night flights as this had improved their night vision and it enabled them to beat their German Counterparts. I then heard about a study of Harvard University who were investigating this claim and testing blueberry extract on mice. The resulting study from Harvard University indeed found out that it improved the vision of mice and even restored some of their eye cells.

I followed this up on the Internet in the Nineties and Harvard University had made another study to find out if Blueberries also could improve or restore brain cells as conventional wisdom had it that brain cells, like eye cells, once dead could never be restored.

Because of my long time Diabetes with consequent brain and eye cell loss and with burst blood vessels in my eyes and poor vision and also terrible short term memory losses where I often could not remember my own family members, house and telephone numbers, etc. I started taking Healthy Direct’s Bilberry Supplements 3 years ago. The consequent eye and memory improvements were absolutely marvellous! My own Chemist, with whom I discussed this at length, also pointed out to me that Lutein did the same and I have also been taking Lutein Supplements too ever since.
