Cranberry is a natural solution to urinary tract infections and helps to maintain bladder health with an effective antibacterial action.
Scientific research has confirmed the effectiveness of cranberries in maintaining the health of the bladder and the urinary tract. Research shows that cranberries contain a specific group of polyphenols called proanthocyanidins that inhibit the adhesion of harmful micro-organisms to the cells of the bladder. This makes the environment a less hospitable place for E Coli and other disease-causing bacteria to breed. Cranberries also possess strong antioxidant properties and can help to deodorise urine.
Ripe cranberries are taken from the low growing shrub, 'Vacinium oxycoccus', a member of the bilberry family. Each specially formulated Healthspan Cranberry tablet provides 200mg of concentrated Cranberry extract (25:1), the equivalent of 5000mg of fresh Cranberries.
