Omega 3
Omega 3 essential fatty acids are named ‘essential’ because they cannot be synthesised by the body and must be obtained through our diet. Oily fish is a rich source of the most important omega 3 essential fatty acids docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and the UK Government recommends taking at least 450mg of omega 3 daily to help maintain a healthy heart.
