A combination of this love of marketing coupled with a long-held belief that the quality of health in your lifetime, could be influenced by adopting positive nutrition into the diet, were the starting point of the Healthspan journey. It was an advert about omega 3 that first focused his thinking by describing the role of fatty acids in maintaining a healthy heart - a relatively new concept back then. This initial appreciation of the benefits of supplementation was key to the creation of the initial Healthspan range.
Healthspan now sells over 200 products and that number stands to increase. Staff thrive off of a passion for health and this is relayed not only through continuous product development but also through the Healthspan way of life; Eat Healthily, Stay Active and Be Positive. The company’s sponsorship and involvement in local events such as the Guernsey marathon, have long since reflected these beliefs and more recent relationships with organisations such as Parkrun are an ongoing reminder of Healthspan’s unwavering faith in good health and wellbeing.
What really shines through when it comes to Derek, though, is his influence throughout Healthspan that shapes the business just as much now as it did twenty-one years ago.
