Christmas isn't Christmas without treats – but these treats are nutritious as well as delicious!
Bananas are rich in potassium, which helps support normal blood pressure. They are also a good source of fibre and can help calm an upset stomach, too. Peanut butter, meanwhile, contains healthy fats and provides your dog with plenty of vitamins and minerals, while oats help your dog feel full and regulate their bowel movements and blood sugar levels.
Finally, parsley is a good source of antioxidants, which counteract the harmful effects of free radicals.
Ingredients
- 1 banana
- 1 cup of oat flour
- 2/3 cup of rolled oats
- 1/2 cup of dried parsley
- 3 tablespoons of peanut butter (xylitol free)
- 1 egg, beaten
Method
- Preheat oven to 160°C. Mash the banana and then add the oat flour, oats, parsley, peanut butter and egg. Mix well. Set aside for 5 minutes.
- Roll mixture into 24 balls or cut into Christmas shapes and transfer to a large baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake for 40-45 minutes until firm and deep golden brown on the bottom. Set aside to cool completely.
- Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature.
