If you like to indulge in treats you shouldn’t, try swapping them out for this ‘feels naughty but is actually nice’ treat; with high protein and vitamin fortified chocolate this is the perfect post gym snack! The next challenge is not eating them all at once. 


Makes 20

  • 400g medjool dates, pitted
  • 95g smooth peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla drops
  • 2 scoops whey protein
  • 50g puffed rice
  • 35g roasted unsalted peanuts, chopped
  • 80g raw cacao chocolate or Delice Noir Original (70% dark chocolate), melted 



  1. Line a 10cm x 20cm tin with non-stick baking paper, leaving some paper overhanging on the long sides.
  2. Place the dates, peanut butter, protein and vanilla in a food processor and process for 2–4 minutes or until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Transfer the date mixture to a big bowl. Add the puffed rice and peanuts and mix well to combine.
  4. Press the mixture into the prepared tin, using the back of a spoon to help you smooth it out if necessary. Pour the melted chocolate over the slice and move the tin around so that the whole of the slice is covered with the chocolate. Place in the fridge for an hour to set.
  5. Using the overhanging paper to help you lift the slice from the tin. Using a hot knife, cut the slice into bars. Place them in the fridge until ready to eat.
