Karen Bardsley is a professional Goalkeeper who plays for Manchester City and England. Karen joined City in November 2013 bringing hordes of experience to the new look City side.

Karen kicked off her professional career at Ajax America Women before moving to Pali Blues in 2008. The following year, she signed for Sky Blue FC, making 17 appearances and winning the league title in the process. August 2011 brought another change for Karen when she signed for Swedish club Linköpings FC. She spent 12 months in Sweden before signing for Lincoln Ladies in 2012.

The shot-stopper then signed a two year deal at City where she made 15 appearances in her first season, helping the club capture its first trophy – the Continental Cup is the competitions inaugural season.

Eligible for the England national team through family connections in Stockport, Karen has made 40 appearances for England. She made her England debut in 2005, and also went on to pick up five caps for Great Britain at the London Olympics. Having patiently served as understudy to Rachel Brown, Karen has retained her place ever since she broke into the England set-up, playing all four matches at the World Cup in 2011.
