What is Hemp Seed Oil?
Hemp seed oil is made by pressing the seeds of industrial hemp. Just to be clear – Hemp Seed Oil is not the same as Cannabidiol Oil (CBD) – although both are from the same family, Cannabis sativa L., and have no psychoactive or addictive effects, they are extracted from different parts of the plant. Hemp seed oil has naturally low levels of cannabinoids, so if you are looking for Cannabidiol Oil, please go to our CBD product pages High Strength CBD Oil and Super Strength CBD Oil.
Hemp seed oil contains a unique combination of fatty acids among edible seed oils. It is highly nutritious and has an optimal balance of omega 3 to 6 fatty acids. It is also rich in omega 9 fatty acids, making it a round herbal supplement which has gained vast popularity in the last few years.
Why is ours better?
We obtain our hemp seed oil by cold-pressed extraction, guaranteeing optimum purity oil and an excellent plant-based source of beneficial omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids.
The essential omega 3 fatty acid ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), the essential omega 6 fatty acid LA (linoleic acid), the polyunsaturated omega 6 fatty acid GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) and the omega 9 fatty acid OA (oleic acid) are all well known for their beneficial properties.
The polyunsaturated fats LA and ALA are classed as essential fatty acids because they must be obtained from our diet. Once in our body, LA is converted into the healthy omega 6 fatty acid GLA, while ALA is converted into EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid).
We are members of the Cannabis Trades Association UK (CTA UK), a body created to ensure legal and ethical CBD trading standards in the UK. Only selected companies that meet exceptionally high quality standards are allowed to carry its seal of approval; its members guarantee transparency in trading, registration, batch testing and labelling, with reliable and accurate product information to give consumers peace of mind.
