What is Royal Jelly?
This incredibly nutritious substance is fit for a queen – in the bee community, at least. It is produced by worker bees as an energy food source for the queen bee, who use this nectar for growth, strength, stamina and longevity.
The queen bee is extremely important as she lays 2,000 eggs per day and lives around 40 to 50 times longer than the worker bees. To help her fulfil her duties, the royal jelly contains proteins, fatty acids, B vitamins and various minerals. Due to its comprehensive nutritional profile, royal jelly has become a popular ingredient in beauty products and many people use it as a general health tonic.
Although there are no EU-approved health claims for this powerful nectar yet, it is believed to have antibacterial properties and currently is being researched for a number of possible benefits, including immunity, skin health, wound healing and menopausal symptoms, so that could all change in future.
Why is ours better?
It’s produced using a standardised process, ensuring a high-quality, concentrated royal jelly extract that provides the equivalent of 600mg of fresh royal jelly per capsule. What’s more, this natural extract contains 6% of the powerful fatty acid 10-HDA (10-Hydroxy-2-decenoic acid), also known as queen bee acid, which is the highest amount found in royal jelly supplements.
