Can retinol be used at any age?
Retinol is a proven ingredient for the reduction of wrinkles for a more youthful appearance. Therefore this is most suitable for anyone who has specific signs of ageing that they want to tackle. However, we have not heard or seen any documents that reason why younger people should not use the product. In fact, many young people do use it as it is also known to be effective in helping to reduce the appearance of acne scarring, and indeed pigmentation patches caused by sun damage.
As such we would not normally give a specific age at which to start using a product, as we are sure you can appreciate that as individuals, everyone’s skin condition varies at different ages so it really is your choice.
Do nurture use preservatives?
All skin and hair care products require some sort of preservative system to ensure that they are safe for use. Without them products would inevitably become full of bacteria which could be harmful to the user.
All nurture products contain some form of preservatives, many of these being natural. We can guarantee that all ingredients used in our products have a long history of safety and are passed as safe for use under EU regulations.
Many of you may have heard about some bad press regarding parabens. Parabens are preservatives added to products in order to prolong their shelf life, keep them stable and free from harmful bacteria. Despite the scientific sounding names, some are actually found naturally, for example methylparaben is found in the blueberry shrub. Sadly misconstrued findings from one past study have caused people to doubt their safety. At nurture we keep our customer’s safety at the forefront of our minds and continually review the safety of our ingredients. We can assure you that the types of parabens and levels contained in our products are completely safe for use on the skin.
For any of you still concerned about these ingredients most of our products are paraben-free excluding the 3-in-1 gentle cleansing wipes and Replenish neck & décolletage cream.
What is the shelf life of your products?
Our products are designed to last which allows you to stock up without having to use them immediately. This works using a period after opening date. This means that the shelf life doesn’t begin until you have opened your product.
Should I be taking a skin or hair supplement?
Traditional beauty products used on skin are only able to nourish the surface layers of skin. By taking a supplement alongside your skin and hair care regime this helps to feed from below the surface. All skin and hair types can benefit from this additional support.
