Transitioning to a vegan lifestyle can be daunting, but preparation will make the change easier. Here, our health experts put forward the pros and cons of veganism, so you can work out whether it's a diet suited to your needs, and go into detail about the changes involved in going vegan, vegetarian or pescatarian. We'll also examine whether a vegan diet really is better for your health, and investigate the notion that meat-free lifestyles can have a positive impact on the environment.

Our aim is to inform people to make the right dietary choice. For some, that means adopting a 100% vegan lifestyle and for others that means cutting down on red meat. Importantly, veganism is not for everyone, and there's nothing wrong with sticking to a healthy diet that does contain dairy and meat. But if helping the planet means cutting down a little at a time on meat? That's something we can all aim for.
