What is cod liver oil?
The name cod liver oil tells you exactly what it is − oil derived from the livers of cods! Whilst this may not sound very appetising, the perceived health benefits of cod liver oil are somewhat more palatable:Cod liver oil is naturally rich in vitamins A and D, making it a sensible choice for maintaining good eyesight, a healthy immune system and strong bones and teeth. Moreover, cod liver oil is prized as a rich source of omega 3 fatty acids EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid’) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid’) which not only solidify cod liver oil use for supporting eye health, but also add brain and heart health to cod liver oil's list of benefits.*

Our pure cod liver oil contains very high levels of the beneficial omega 3 fatty acids DHA and EPA; just one 5ml spoonful gives you 460mg of DHA and 345mg of EPA! It also gives you beneficial levels of vitamin E which protects your cells from oxidative stress.
