What are cranberries?
Cranberries have been part of Northern American diets since the 16th century. Back then, cranberries were eaten fresh or mashed with cornmeal and baked into bread. Northern American sailors and whalers carried cranberries onboard to prevent scurvy, a condition that can occur if your vitamin C intake is insufficient. These days, cranberries are enjoyed across the world in juices and teas.
