A lifetime of health knowledge

As a nurse, midwife and health visitor, Lyn Young knew the importance of keeping her pelvic floor healthy to maintain good bladder control. But in her mid-forties, she had to have a complex hysterectomy. ‘It was a nightmare afterwards, I wasn’t aware there was even a problem until I went back to playing golf and swinging the clubs caused me to leak.’

‘I’d always been very sporty; I played tennis, hockey and golf,’ recalls Lyn, 85, who lives in Shropshire and has four children including twins and eight grandchildren. Without many other options, she tried to manage it with the help of intensive pelvic floor exercises and pads ‘to prevent any nasty surprises.’

When things took a turn

About five years ago, however, things took a turn for the worse and Lyn began to experience more serious leakage. Lyn is not alone, a recent UK study found that 44 % of adults experience incontinence, and 59 % of female respondents over 55 experience urinary issues*.

It was a hard blow for someone like Lyn who used to think of nothing more than traversing the golf course with a bag of clubs on her back. So she looked for an alternative.

Deciding to give Bladder Support a go

‘When I first heard about Bladder Support, I was skeptical,’ she admits. But with nothing to lose she decided to give it a try. ‘I couldn’t believe the change. It was incredible. I wasn’t expecting such a great improvement.’

How Bladder Support is formulated

Healthspan’s Bladder Support is specifically formulated to provide nutritional support for healthy bladder function. The added Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function, While including Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity, and Go-Less® Pumpkin Seed and Soy Germ Extract supporting the maintenance of good bladder function and urinary flow.

Together with a small digital pelvic floor stimulator - ‘a bit like a TENS machine that helps improve blood supply and strengthen the pelvic floor muscles’ - Lyn can now enjoy life again.

Enjoying everyday life again

‘I don’t play sport any more but I can go out, have a meal, play bridge and do my tai chi and meditation without having to worry about finding the nearest loo,’ she says.

Her advice to others

Her advice to others? ‘I’d recommend anyone with a bladder issues to at least try Bladder Support. Don’t expect an overnight miracle - you have to give it time (at least 3 months) - but do give it a go. What have you got to lose? For me, it’s really improved my quality of life’

Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function.
