Carole’s story
Carole Walker, who lives in Shropshire, is bursting with enviable energy and zest for life. She and her husband Robert have just moved into a converted schoolhouse, where she’s taking on the “huge, huge garden” together with the rabbits who are determinedly munching their way through her flowers and vegetables.
But two years ago, a small but annoying niggle began to interfere with her active lifestyle. The fourth finger on her right hand started to swell and ache, making it harder to do everyday tasks like opening jars.
Why Carole returned to Opti-Turmeric®
A long-time Healthspan customer who likes to take care of her health naturally, Carole remembered a supplement she had previously taken as part of her joint health routine before having her hip replaced: Opti-Turmeric®.
“When my finger started to ache and hurt and get swollen, I thought, ‘Oh, I’ll try the Opti-Turmeric® again,’” she remembers.
Eighteen months on, Carole says she no longer notices her finger aching.
“I’ve been taking it for well over a year and I don’t notice my finger aching anymore.”
What makes Opti-Turmeric® different?
Turmeric contains curcumin, a naturally occurring compound that has been widely studied in relation to joint health. However, standard curcumin is not easily absorbed by the body.
Healthspan’s Opti-Turmeric® uses an advanced liquid NovaSOL® curcumin formulation that is 185 times better absorbed and seven times faster acting than standard powdered turmeric.
Each capsule also contains vitamin C, which contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage and to the normal function of the immune system.
In a Healthspan survey of 194 Opti-Turmeric® users, more than 70% said they benefited from reduced joint discomfort, while 44% reported reduced stiffness.

Keeping active in Shropshire
For Carole, a country girl at heart, the move to Shropshire has been the fulfilment of a dream. She grew up on a smallholding near Bridgnorth.
“I could milk a cow by the time I was five,” she says.
In more recent years she and Robert ran a large poultry farm in Catherine-de-Barnes, near Birmingham Airport.
She even once found herself shaking hands with the King, then Prince Charles, who was visiting an educational charity Carole also worked for.
“Everybody was standing around with coffee being sociable when all of a sudden he turned around and held his hand out. I didn’t know what to do with my cup,” she laughs.
Today, Carole cooks every day, tends to her large garden and keeps up with her ten grandchildren, making supporting her joint health an important part of her everyday routine.
“Opti-Turmeric® works for me,” she says. “So I intend to carry on taking it.”
