On her doctor’s advice to take vitamin D, Diana added Vitamin D3 & K2 to her morning routine alongside a healthy diet and prescribed medication to support her bone health.

Former bank cashier Diana Collman, from Hertfordshire, was diagnosed with osteopenia – lower than usual bone mineral density – around 20 years ago, for which she takes prescribed medication.
“My doctor advised me to take vitamin D too and about three years ago someone in my local health shop suggested I think about combined vitamin D and vitamin K,” recalls Diana.
That advice prompted Diana, already a loyal Healthspan customer, to order Vitamin D3 & K2, which she takes every morning with her breakfast.
Why Vitamin D3 & K2 is part of Diana’s routine
For Diana, supporting her bone health is an important part of looking after herself as she gets older.
Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus, normal blood calcium levels and the maintenance of normal bones. It also contributes to normal muscle function and the normal function of the immune system.
Vitamin K contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and normal blood clotting.
For Diana, taking both nutrients in one tablet provides a convenient addition to the healthy lifestyle and medical care she already follows.
What do vitamin D3 and K2 do for bone health?
Vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 perform different roles in supporting normal bone health. Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium and contributes to normal blood calcium levels, while both vitamin D and vitamin K contribute to the maintenance of normal bones.
Healthspan’s Vitamin D3 & K2 provides 100 micrograms of vitamin D3 and 100 micrograms of vitamin K2 in its MK-7 form per tablet.

Keeping moving every day
Like many people as they get older, Diana is not as active as she once was. Even so, she makes a point of keeping moving every day in the townhouse she shares with her husband.
“I go up and down stairs about ten times a day: 54 stairs,” she laughs.
For Diana, taking Vitamin D3 & K2 is an important part of her self-care routine.
“You’ve got to be agile. You’ve got to be able to move about. If I didn’t take them, I don’t know what I’d be like.”
A long-time Healthspan customer
Diana is equally positive about the service she receives from Healthspan.
“When it’s time for a new order, I get a text message or an email asking if I’m ready,” she says. “The staff are always so helpful and polite, and they know what they’re talking about. I can’t thank them enough.”
